What is the deadline?

What are the requirements to participate in The Big Idea?
The only requirement is that you have an idea for a mobile and/or tablet app that’s specifically designed for children under the age of five. Existing apps may also be submitted.
How much does it cost to apply?
It is free to apply.
Finalists are responsible for their own travel and housing.
How many finalists will be named and asked to pitch their idea in person at the Digital Kids Summit?
We will be selecting 5 finalists.
Finalists will be contacted on or around October 10, 2014.
How will the on-stage pitch process work?
The Big Idea finalists will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to pitch and explain their idea to the judges. The panel of judges will then have 7 minutes to ask any questions they have about your idea.
Will I receive a complimentary registration to Digital Kids Summit if I’m selected?
Yes, finalists will receive one (1) complimentary registration for the Digital Kids Summit (day 2 only). This complimentary registration must be assigned to specific individual presenting at the summit. Additional team member registrations will be available at a 20% discount.
What are the key factors that the judges will consider when evaluating ideas?
The judges have been asked to consider the following criteria:
- Educational/Entertainment Value: How fun or educational would this app be for children? - Ingenuity: How unique is this idea in the marketplace? - Age-Appropriate: Does it have the makings of an app for a child under the age of 5? - Functionality: Is the proposed structure of the app sound?

How many winners will be selected & what do they get?
5 finalists will be selected to present on stage.
One lucky winner will be chosen.
That winner will receive $100,000 worth of television advertising on BabyFirst’s targeted 41 million+ home cable TV network and growing app network.
Additionally, if no app is yet built, the winning finalist will be able to have their app developed free of charge by the app development teams at BabyFirst Mobile.
