- 68% of households with kids age 6-13 have a tablet in the home
- 32% of kids age 6-13 personally own a tablet, 30% personally own a cell phone (20% own a smartphone)
- Average hours of ‘screen time’ per day among 6-13 year olds: 2.0 hours
- Average hours spent online daily among kids 6-13: weekday 1.3 hrs, weekend day 1.9 hrs
- 83% of kids age 6-13 say they use/download Apps. (37% of those who use apps have downloaded one in the past week).
- Average times per day kids 6-13 use an App on their personal cell phone: 24.5
- Average # of Apps kids 6-13 have on on their personal cell phone: 23.3
- 71% of Parents of kids age 6-13 download Apps for their child. (38% to a tablet, 34% to a cell phone, 25% to an iPod, 18% to an eReader.)
- Parents of kids age 6-13 spend an average of $1.00 per App for child. (48% of parents who download Apps only download free apps)

- 14% of kids age 6-13 have used an App enabled toy/product.

- One of the few categories growing - by a whopping 70 percent year over year, was the interactive toy market. Skylanders generated more than $2 billion in sales from both toys and copies of the Skylanders games since launch. Disney Interactive (makers of Infinity) revenue for 2013 more than doubled from the previous year to $396 million, according to the parent company’s SEC filings.
